Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 6 — Everything We Know

From Peacock Back to NBC

Law & Order: Organized Crime shifted to Peacock for Season 5, slimming down to 10 episodes under the streaming model. Now, the series has returned to NBC’s Thursday lineup as of September 25. But don’t expect new content just yet—the network is simply re-airing Season 5 episodes that are already streaming.

Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler briefly appeared in the SVU Season 27 premiere, sharing a quiet moment with Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) at Captain Cragen’s wake. However, there was no hint about his professional future or what lies ahead for Organized Crime.

Renewal Status

Has Organized Crime been renewed for Season 6? Not yet. The Season 5 finale dropped on Peacock on June 12, so the delay isn’t unusual. A decision may still be months away.

Season 5 Recap

The season brought heartbreak for the Stabler family. Stabler’s brother, Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter), was murdered by crime boss Julian Emery (Tom Payne). In the finale, Emery was arrested after Joe Jr.’s mailed flash drive exposed his crimes. Joe Jr. was honored posthumously for his undercover work.

Possible Cast for Season 6

If renewed, Meloni would return as Detective Stabler. Other regulars from Season 5 included:

  • Danielle Moné Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell

  • Rick Gonzalez as Detective Bobby Reyes

  • Dean Norris as Randall Stabler

Ainsley Seiger’s Jet Slootmaekers took a leave midseason, so her return is uncertain.

When Could It Premiere?

With streaming seasons capped at 10 episodes, Season 6 would likely arrive as a midseason show in the 2025–2026 lineup, assuming renewal comes through.

What Could Season 6 Be About?

Story details remain under wraps. Meloni told TV Insider in June that even Peacock hasn’t finalized plans. He expressed hope for “provocative storytelling” that expands the ensemble’s role and continues using the creative freedom streaming allows.

Trailer Status

There’s no trailer yet. Without a renewal, production hasn’t even begun.

The Bigger Picture

While Organized Crime waits for its fate, the rest of the Law & Order franchise remains strong. The mothership is airing Season 25, and SVU is in its 27th season, keeping NBC’s Thursday lineup anchored by Dick Wolf’s signature universe.
