‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Should Sonny Really Trust Ric? Hotshot Lawyer Claims He Wants Peace
‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that we’re unsure whether Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) should really trust Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst).
Ric surprised GH fans by showing up at Sonny’s place to offer to represent Sonny’s grandson, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Accepted Ric’s Offer to Help Rocco
Viewers were even more shocked when Sonny accepted, and Ric became Rocco’s lawyer in his case against Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard).
Unfortunately, not even hotshot lawyer, Ric, was any match for the new evidence ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) presented in court. Professor Dalton gave her photos of his lab after it was supposedly trashed.
Dalton framed poor Rocco for destroying the lab after catching him breaking into it. Rocco ended up having to go to a juvenile detention center.
Ric was genuinely disturbed by the idea of his nephew being put in this position. Even Sonny recognized that Ric’s main ambition was to help Rocco beat the charges.
Some fans want to see Sonny and Ric join forces, which is quite an interesting turn of events. We all know Ric’s horrific past.
Decades ago, Ric locked Sonny’s then-wife, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), in a panic room and planned to steal her baby and give it to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
Ric was obviously the villain of the story. However, Ric’s little stint in Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) basement may have actually done him some good.
Ric was amusingly held hostage by Alexis, Ava Jerome (Maura West), and Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi). It almost seemed fitting, as if it were his karma for what he did to Carly.
Is it possible that Ric, being forced into the same situation that he forced Carly into all those years ago, has changed him?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ric Was the Son Left Behind
Ric had always envied his brother, Sonny. He also harbored resentment toward Sonny because, when his mother, Adela, left Ric’s father, she took Sonny with her, leaving Ric behind.
Adela married Ric’s father, Trevor Lansing (Stephen Macht). Adela and Trevor were fighting one day, and while pregnant with Ric, Adela fell down the stairs.
Trevor blamed Sonny for Adela’s accident and told Adela he wanted to put Sonny up for adoption. So, Adela took Sonny, and Ric stayed with Trevor. Sadly, Ric never saw his mother again.
We’re not necessarily defending Ric or his deplorable actions, but his mother abandoning him had to have messed with his head.
We can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for him as a child to be separated from his own mother. Ric can be a jerk, but at least his trauma makes sense.

He claims to want peace with his estranged brother, Sonny. Ric also extended a peace offering to Alexis for the sake of their daughter, Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos).
Ric and Sonny becoming a united front is actually an intriguing scenario. While the jury is still out on whether Sonny can really trust Ric, it might be fun to see them bury the hatchet. The two of them would certainly make a formidable team.
Do you think Ric is playing Sonny and is secretly aiming to take him down? Or, should Sonny trust Ric and believe that he wants to finally put the past behind them and move forward as brothers?
