Emma revealed that she’ll be filming a scene with Coronation Street’s Alison King, who plays fan favourite Carla Connor and teased: “There’s a smidge of flirt but that’s all I can say,” Emma teased, before Nicola added: “It’s more than a smidge!”
James confirmed that he’ll be shooting with Coronation Street legend Andy Whyment, best known for playing Kirk Sutherland, and quipped: “It’s going to be a meeting of two brain cells and that’s all I can tell you at this time. It’s going to be a fascinating scene and I think you should all vote for it.”
Nicola confirmed that she’ll be working with Corrie legend David Neilson, who plays Roy Cropper, so there’ll be a meeting of the café owners if fans vote for it.
Finally, it was also announced that option four will see Emmerdale’s Michael Parr, known for playing Ross Barton, and Coronation Street’s Kate Ford, aka Weatherfield’s Tracy Barlow, together.
Sharon then went on to confirm: “Those are your options. Keep an eye on the socials – keep talking to the bosses on the socials because they have been listening to you on what you want to see. They’re filming today so it’ll be about six weeks’ time – I think January 1 – you will have the chance to vote for which of those scenes you want to see go out.”
The standalone episode, set to be dubbed ‘Corriedale’, will see the residents of Weatherfield join forces with their Yorkshire neighbours in an action packed hour of drama.
Corriedale will air on ITV, STV, ITVX and YouTube in early 2026, and will herald the start of the new soap power hour schedule, with each show screening 30 minute episodes every weekday, Emmerdale at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm.
