‘DUTTON RANCH’: THE SPINOFF THAT YELLOWSTONE FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
After five seasons of drama, betrayal, and high-stakes battles for Montana land, Yellowstone ended its original run — but the Dutton saga is far from over. The series’ creator, Taylor Sheridan, has been busy growing the franchise with prequels like 1883 and 1923, as well as new projects The Madison and Y: Marshals. Now, fans finally have confirmation of what many have hoped for: a spinoff focused on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler titled Dutton Ranch.
Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will step back into their iconic roles as Beth and Rip, leading the next chapter of the Dutton family’s story. Finn Little is set to return as Carter, the couple’s adopted son, whose journey will play a central role in the series.

The cast also welcomes fresh faces, including Annette Bening as Beulah Jackson, a powerful Texas rancher with both charm and cunning. Ed Harris will portray Everett McKinney, a seasoned veterinarian known for his wisdom and dry humor, while Jai Courtney joins as Rob-Will, a formidable and unpredictable ranch foreman.
The story picks up after the events of the Yellowstone finale. Beth and Rip have relocated to a new ranch a few hours away from the original Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, where they are determined to protect the life they fought so hard to build. The official synopsis hints at themes of survival, resilience, and family legacy as Beth and Rip navigate challenges and work to guide Carter into adulthood.
Given its timeline, Dutton Ranch may also feature appearances from familiar faces from the flagship series, keeping the connection to the original show alive.
Taylor Sheridan remains at the creative helm as executive producer, ensuring the series maintains the gritty tone and emotional depth fans expect. Showrunner Chad Feehan, known for Ray Donovan and Banshee, will oversee the series. Both Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will also serve as executive producers, joining Sheridan’s longtime collaborators from 101 Studios and Paramount Television Studios.
No official premiere date has been announced yet, but the project is confirmed for Paramount+. With Sheridan’s other spinoffs — including The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Y: Marshals led by Luke Grimes — also on the horizon, viewers will have plenty of Dutton-related drama to look forward to.
The relationship between Beth and Rip has always been at the emotional heart of Yellowstone, and this new series promises to dive even deeper into their lives. With its stellar cast, new characters, and Sheridan’s signature storytelling, Dutton Ranch is poised to become the next big chapter in the ever-growing Yellowstone universe.
