Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers responds after fans left ‘broken’ by scenes
Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has shared a message with fans after they were left ‘broken’ by some of her latest scenes in the long-running show.
Fans of the ITV soap know, and love, the actress best for playing DS Lisa Swain in Weatherfield, a role she made her debut in back in 2021 after two previous appearances on the cobbles.
Those who follow Corrie will know that the detective sergeant was first brought in to investigate the shocking hate crime assaults on Nina Lucas and her boyfriend Seb Franklin, which led to the latter’s death.
She was then seen working on a number of other cases. However, it wasn’t until early last year that Vicky was signed as a regular cast member, with Lisa having been part of the Weatherfield action ever since, having struck up a relationship with Carla Connor.
And fans will also know that their romance has been nothing but plain sailing – with Carla’s ill health, the return of her murderer brother – who held them at gunpoint inside No.1 – and now the return of Lisa’s late wife, Becky.
As viewers know, Becky made a shock arrival in Weatherfield back in September, on her and Lisa’s daughter, Betsy’s, 18th birthday, which comes after the detective sergeant was led to believe her partner had been killed in the line of duty four years ago.
Becky, who claimed she was hiding out in Spain, having been put into witness protection following an undercover operation gone wrong, has since been getting in between Lisa and Carla, with a clear intention to get her family back together, whatever it takes.
During Wednesday’s (November 26) visit to the cobbles, Carla had been planning a romantic meal and hotel stay for herself and Lisa so that they could spend some much-needed alone time together now that Becky is staying under their roof. But having heard about their plans, a devious Becky decided to come between them – again.

After stealing a bottle of Carla’s red wine, Lisa found an intoxicated Becky lying out on the doorstep of No.6, with no choice but to get her inside and make sure she sobered up. At the hotel, Carla realised that Lisa wasn’t coming, and when she arrived home, she put on Lisa’s bathrobe.
Despite Lisa trying to offer an explanation, it seemingly sealed the couple’s fate. Lisa begged Carla not to make her choose between their relationship and Betsy’s relationship with Becky, but the Underworld factory boss felt like her partner’s decision had already been made and she left the house in emotional scenes.
After an outpouring of messages, with fans sharing their upset at the couple, affectionately known as ‘Swarla’, potentially coming to an end, as well as praise for her and her co-star Alison King, Vicky has spoken out in a message of thanks.
