Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney in ‘crossover nobody expected’ as she declares love for EastEnders star
Claire Sweeney declared her love for a rival soap star as she shared the ‘crossover nobody expected’.
The actress, who currently plays Cassie Plummer inĀ Coronation Street, took to Instagram to share some sweet snaps of herself with anĀ EastEndersĀ favourite.

Claire, who joined theĀ ITVĀ soap in 2023 the long-lost mum of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman), captioned the snap of her and fellow actress Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Slater in theĀ BBCĀ drama: “Corrienders….. the crossover nobody expected.
“Mates for over 20 years. Love you @jessie.wallace_official you make me laugh so much.”

Claire is no stranger to the soap world, having shot to fame in the role of Lindsey Corkhill, the daughter of already established regulars Jimmy and Jackie, in the now-defunctĀ Channel 4Ā soap, Brookside, theĀ Manchester Evening NewsĀ reports.
She joined in 1991 before becoming a leading character in 1995.
Claire remained in the Liverpool-based programme until the final episode was broadcast in November 2003.
She then went on to present a number of TV programmes and took on roles in stage musicals.
Reality TV shows she featured in include CelebrityĀ Big BrotherĀ andĀ Dancing on Ice.
