Coronation Street fans think they have ‘figured out’ Becky Swain’s sinister ‘plan’ as it appears things are set to ramp up with the character this Christmas.
Those who follow the ITV soap are keen to see the back of the newcomer, just months after her Weatherfield arrival. That’s because Becky is getting inbetween fan-favourite couple Lisa Swain and Carla Connor – because she’s Lisa’s ‘late’ wife.
The detective sergeant (DS) couldn’t comprehend what was happening back in September when Becky appeared in the living room of her new home, No.6 Coronation Street, having just moved in with new partner Carla, which came before they got engaged.
Becky, who was believed to have died in the line of duty almost four years ago, claimed she was in witness protection in Spain after an undercover operation went wrong, and Lisa’s boss, DI Costello was in on faking her death.
She has since been getting in between Lisa and Carla, with a clear intention to get her family back together – whatever it takes – while Costello puts her under pressure to return to Spain.
During the latest visit to Weatherfield on Monday night (November 24), Corrie viewers saw Becky arrive at No.6 with a shaken Betsy in tow, revealing she’d been hit with yet another chilling death threat – this time a funeral wreath left on her doorstep, marked “Rest in Peace – Again”.
Sparking fear in Betsy, the teen pleaded with Lisa to help and soon, Becky was being invited to stay, despite Carla’s true feelings. And things only get worse as during Wednesday’s (November 26) visit to the cobbles, Carla signals that their relationship is over.

It comes as a Christmas preview revealed that there is actually much more to come. While it’s been revealed that Becky seemingly gets her wish to get Lisa all to herself, with Carla out of the picture, Becky takes her moment to swoop in to reclaim her family.
But when Costello shows signs of improvement, following his recent attack, Becky’s driven to drastic measures. With Costello’s life in jeopardy, are Carla’s carefree social media posts all they seem? As the mystery deepens, is Carla truly living her best life in Lanzarote?
