Ice-T and Coco Austin’s 9-year-old daughter, Chanel, started her first day of 4th grade with bold blue streaks in her hair. The colorful new look immediately caught attention online, showing that Chanel isn’t afraid to express herself.
Coco’s Bittersweet Feelings
Coco Austin shared the moment on Instagram, revealing her mixed emotions about the new school year. “First days of school are always sweet and bitter for me,” she wrote on September 4. “I hate to see her go but love seeing her excited and with her friends. I even feel a little jealous because they spend more time with her than I do during the year.”
Despite her bittersweet feelings, Coco expressed pride in her daughter. “I’m proud of the little human she has become,” she added.
Chanel’s Personal Hair Choice
The blue streaks came straight from Chanel’s own idea. Coco explained that her daughter had been drawn to the color recently, so she let her try it. On August 25, Coco shared a post showing Chanel’s bright streaks blending with her natural brunette hair. “Had some fun with Chanel’s hair recently. She’s been feeling the color blue lately, so I finally gave in,” Coco wrote.
Resemblance to Her Dad
Chanel also resembles her dad, Ice-T, in many ways. Earlier this year, he shared an adorable photo of himself with her on X, saying, “At some point, you realize there’s someone watching every move you make.”
However, Ice-T noted that Chanel doesn’t always enjoy the comparisons. “I think she gets irritated when people say she looks like her dad instead of her mom,” he told Today in 2023. “But if you look at old pictures of Coco, you’ll see similarities. She’s finding her own style.”
