CBS REVEALS NEW CAST MEMBER FOR LUKE GRIMES’ Y: MARSHALS SPINOFF

Logan Marshall-Green Joins the Cast

The Yellowstone universe continues to expand, and CBS has just added a new face to its upcoming spinoff, Y: Marshals. Logan Marshall-Green, best known for his roles in Upgrade, Prometheus, and Big Sky, will join Luke Grimes in the highly anticipated series. He plays Pete Calvin, a longtime friend from Kayce Dutton’s military past.

A New Path for Kayce Dutton

Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton, now leaving the Yellowstone Ranch behind. The spinoff follows Kayce as he transitions from cowboy and former Navy SEAL to U.S. Marshal. The official logline promises a blend of action and drama: “With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. He and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

Mystery Around the Dutton Family

While Kayce’s new role is clear, CBS has yet to confirm whether Monica (Kelsey Asbille) or Tate (Brecken Merrill) will appear in the series. Fans are eager to know if the spinoff will explore Kayce’s family life as deeply as his new career. For now, their involvement remains a mystery.

Behind the Scenes

Y: Marshals is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, with Spencer Hudnut serving as showrunner and writer of the pilot. The series will premiere mid-season in 2026 on CBS, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST.

Building on the Yellowstone Legacy

With the addition of Logan Marshall-Green, Y: Marshals promises to bring new energy and depth to Kayce Dutton’s journey. The mix of military ties, frontier justice, and Sheridan’s trademark grit ensures that the series will carry forward the legacy of Yellowstone while carving out its own identity in the franchise.
